Director’s Vision for ‘The Widower’s Guidebook’

There is a deeper, longer story here, hence this short’s title “The Widower’s Guidebook (Prologue).” What you see here is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s the beginning of the full story. I wrote a feature script back in 2021 that garnered some meetings for me, but nobody ended up buying it. However, I love the story so much that I thought, ‘Well, why don’t I just shoot the first scene, plus a little extra, because I want to see it, and it won’t cost me an arm and a leg.’ That was it. With a shoestring budget and a small, talented cast and crew we knocked out the shoot in one night.

I feel very close to the characters, Lucy and Jack, and I think others will feel the same way too. My hope is that people will not only be moved by what they see, but also curious about where the story goes from here. Because there’s so much story left to tell!
