Director’s Statement

This film was created around a real voice message I received at the end of my last relationship. When I heard it for the first time, I was a wreck. I’m not sure what possessed me in the moment, but I started piecing together footage of us from my iPhone as a means of processing what I was experiencing. Some trusted friends who saw what I had cut together encouraged me to keep going, and after showing a rough sequence to my ex-girlfriend, she gave me her blessing to make this film. I hoped the piece would not only capture the sorrows of breaking up, but also celebrate the joys that were shared.
