Grieving the suicide of her best friend, a young college student decides to take matters into her own hands and confront the perpetrator that caused her friends downward spiral.
Writer’s Statement
Writing Rose was a very cathartic experience for me. Too many of my friends have been sexually assaulted, most of them before the age of twenty. It has become an all too common occurance for young women as they grow up. I wrote this story in memory of a childhood friend.
This story is not just for her but for all the young women whose voices were not heard
