After countless rejection notices, an unhinged, obsessive writer plots a devious scheme to attain fame and success.
Director’s Vision for ‘Read or Alive’
Read or Alive is a dark comedy thriller that explores our generation’s growing obsession with fame, success, and recognition. I wanted to examine how, in today’s culture, attention has become a form of currency, where reputation and personal branding can often matter more than genuine talent or accomplishment.
The film follows an aspiring writer whose desperation after years of rejection drives her to an unthinkable scheme in pursuit of literary success. While the story is exaggerated, it’s rooted in a very real question: how far are people willing to go to be seen?
Ultimately, the film is a commentary on a world where visibility often outweighs substance, and where the pursuit of success can become more important than success itself.
