Director’s Vision for ‘Patrick’

This film is the essence of working fruitfully with my creative partner, Gilbert Kyem Jnr, where we wanted to explore themes that are familiar to him. With PATRICK, Gilbert wanted to explore the theme of ‘blood love’. What separates these characters and what compromises they must make in order to both get what they want- a brother.
In a very challenging relationship, the question kept arising of ‘what is it that keeps these two together?’ and therefore exploring form to emphasise their divide; existing in the same space but in their own worlds.
