What happens when online fantasy becomes real? After a breakup with his actress ex-girlfriend, Eli secretly reactivates an old dating account — stepping back into a version of himself he thought he left behind. When Molly, a woman searching for something more, connects with him, their virtual connection begins to blur the line between truth and illusion. Love, Lacey Lane is a modern romance exploring identity, desire, and the quiet deception of digital relationships.
Director’s Vision for ‘Love, Lacey Lane’
Love, Lacey Lane is my first narrative short film. It delves into online dating and how social media can blur the line between reality and fantasy. It’s a story that begs us to question: are cyber relationships bringing us closer together or further apart?
As social media celebrity culture rises, we can assume a false sense of closeness with people we barely know, based solely on the story they share with us, leaving us to fill in the gaps with our imagination about who we think they really are.
Love, Lacey Lane is an exploration of the lies we tell ourselves and each other online, uncovering the intimate implications of the digital age.
