A short film about not being able to let go.

We find ourselves in a closed loop, that for a short moment seems to open as the clarity of our conscious appears. At this moment we are left alone with the paradox of choice and desire. Should we change?

Director’s Statement

This film is a study of careful composition, timing and the unnerving silence that all add to the very simple story; which really is not that simple on a deeper level.

I was interested in creating visual tension by “splitting” the frame in half and telling a more subtle story on the upper halve where the two men just stare at each other and a more aggressive one below the table where we see the guns. This visualises the underlying theme of not being able to let go of the things that are bad for you.

The camera movements are very precise and quiet and they leave room for the viewer to study the frame and the chraracters. Another key element is the sound, which plays a huge role in the film. The sound design is very empty and full at the same time and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat.
