Newly broken up with and over everything, Rowan throws himself a goodbye party before he blasts himself out of Brooklyn – literally.
Director’s Vision for ‘Goodbye Party’
Every month, a new wealthy individual launches themselves into the unknown. There’s a unique kind of boredom that arises when rich people exhaust all other activities and seek to be the first to undertake a never-before-attempted experience, such as venturing into deep space or the ocean’s depths. Unfortunately, these frontier explorations sometimes backfire, leading to tragedy instead of glory. In “Goodbye Party,” we satirize these Bezos-funded ventures through a lens of Millennial malaise. Our goal is to make people laugh, drop their jaws, and see the worst parts of themselves reflected on screen. As queer AAPI creators, the themes of isolation and imposter syndrome directly relate to our marginalized identities. It’s our (space) mission to spotlight diverse storytelling, both in front of and behind the camera, with our silly, demented film.
