Director’s Statement

For the Rabbits is an incredibly personal story to me as it relates to my experiences growing up as a younger sibling of a sister with Autism. My experiences with my sister have informed much of who I am as a person. I have learned so many lessons growing up beside her- and For the Rabbits is my presentation of one which I wish I had learned much earlier. I hope that this short film may combat the tendency towards embarrassment and exclusion that so many family members of neurodivergent individuals so easily slip into. Family is Family.
