Director’s Vision for ‘Everything I Never Told You’

Everything I Never Told You is an exploration of the limerence associated with a young queer relationship. Through the characters of Ines and Sid, we experience a journey toward release and self-acceptance through a delicate and poetic narrative. This film speaks to a young LGBTQ+ audience while instilling a deep universality that is so important to me and my own experiences of love and personal growth within New York’s queer beach community, Fire Island Pines.

I aspire to tell female-led stories that broaden the horizons of the smallest minds and speak to the hearts of the most expansive. My goal with Everything I Never Told You was to create a relationship between two young people that feels so truthful that it can transcend gender identity, sexuality, and circumstance for all audiences. With the state in our world today, it is deeply important that anyone who views this film can project their own relationships – past, or present – upon it, accept either character as their protagonist, and gain their own personal form of closure by the last beat.

Growing up as a performer and completing my studies in NYU Tisch Drama’s 2023 class, I always knew that language and actors came first for me. Just as the characters Sid and Ines blend the worlds of reality and romanticization, poetry has the power to embody feelings that can’t otherwise be communicated. I feel so excited to ground poetry in realism in the film space as a writer/director.

Everything I Never Told You, at its core is a love letter to the self, disguised as a queer love story. I hope that young girls can view this film and say to themselves “I can do that too”- whether that be to love whoever they want to love, release the grief they carry, or tell transformative stories.
