A man races against time to save his sister’s life, but what is the cost of this act of heroism?
Ekstasis is a proof of concept short, serving as an introduction into a more expansive science fiction world and a story in which the notion of heroism is questioned.
Director’s Vision for ‘Ekstasis’
This short was originally intended as a proof of concept for a feature film project that questioned the nature of heroism in the modern world. The story in its short form is really an introduction into the cycle that the protagonist is trapped in as he tries to save his sister.
I was especially interested in creating a narrative that heightens the stakes by intercutting between different times and different points of view within a lo-fi science fiction world.
