“Again, I Paint” Courtney Cole
After a six-year break from painting, she finally picked up her brushes again.
There are seasons when the brush goes still. When life, in its heaviness, quiets the impulse to create. But even in silence, something stirs. Healing isn’t always loud — sometimes it’s in the simple act of beginning again. Again, I Paint is a portrait of that return. Of finding yourself not where you left off, but somewhere softer, deeper. This is not about mastery. It’s about memory, movement, and the courage to make marks after losing your way. Each stroke is a gesture of becoming — not who you were, but who you are now, unfolding.
When color stirs beneath the surface, it reveals more than paint — it uncovers the artist’s journey through healing, identity, and rebirth.
Director’s Vision for ‘Again, I Paint’
Filmmaking, to me, is more than a craft. It’s a form of connection. It allows us to share truth, emotion, and perspective in a way that can leave a lasting impact on the world.
I create films to inspire. I’m especially interested in stories of resilience and creativity; moments where art becomes a way through. I believe film is one of the most powerful tools we have to remind each other that we’re not alone.
