Director’s Vision for ‘A Sweet Tooth’

I have always existed between identities. Too Filipino to feel entirely American, and too American to feel entirely Filipino. That tension has shaped how I see the world and where I place myself within it.

I was raised to believe that hard work creates opportunity. I built my life around that idea, working my way through the film industry by being reliable and useful. Over time, I learned that usefulness is not always the same as value.

A Sweet Tooth grew out of that contradiction. It is a story about ambition, compromise, and what happens when the life you've carefully built begins to turn against you.
