The film world is buzzing. With the recent announcement of this year’s Oscar Nominations, there has been much discussion as to the nominees for Best Picture.

The Nominees are:

Les Miserables

Les Mis

Amour

Les Mis

Life of Pi

Life of Pi

Argo

Argo

Lincoln

Lincoln

Beasts of the Southern Wild

Beast of the Souther Wild

Silver Linings Playbook

Silver Linings Playbook

Django Unchained

Django Unchained

Zero Dark Thirty

Zero Dark Thirty

All of the nominees are really great films, and everyone should make an effort see them if they haven’t already.

With that being said, there is one film some are surprised and disappointed not to see listed-Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. Jackson has been know for creating great films, and his last large motion picture, The Return of the King, was nominated. I can’t say if I’m surprised or not, as I have yet to see The Hobbit.

I would have to throw my bid in for the Oscar to go to either LincolnArgo, Zero Dark Thirty or Amour. However, I had Hugo pegged for last year and it did not win.

I am, however, curious to hear your thoughts.
