Normal

Having just arrived in a city where everybody walks backwards, a shy young man has to adapt quickly in order to meet the girl that brought him there.

‘Normal’ was shot entirely on location in Greece, with emphasis on creating a unique architectural landscape that represents the fictional city the story takes place. People are juxtaposed against their vast environment, a motif that is punctuated by the precise framing of cinematographer Yannis Simos. The slightly uneasy atmosphere makes it quite clear from the very start that it is not going to be exactly what the title suggests. Key roles in this film are held by Marios Paradeisis and Evangelina Kariofilli, the boy and the girl respectively.
